What

Texas Robotics Invitational (TRI) is an off-season event in Houston, Texas designed to more experience in FRC. TRI is planned and organized by Spectrum FRC#3847 with the help of Houston area teams, and volunteers.

When

Late June of each year.

Where

Strake Jesuit College Preparatory Gymnasiums: 8900 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX, 77036

Each year Spectrum hosts a Mock Kickoff event for Houston area teams. The goal of the event is to get new members used to the engineering design process. We go through the exercises that we typically use on FRC Kickoff to anaylze a game and design our strategy for the game and the robot. This is often the first chance that many new teams and new members get to interact with the greater Houston FRC community.

FIRST Lego League is a robotics program for 4th - 8th grade students that introduces them to STEM. Our annual FLL qualifier allows 24 teams to compete for space at the South East Texas FLL Championship. Our qualifier is normally the first Saturday in December. We are always looking for volunteers to help judge, referee, and help in other ways at our event.
